ASTRACO IMPLEMENTS AN ERP SYSTEM

ASTRACO signed a contract with JEDCO (Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation) where ASTRACO will be awarded a grant, which is EC financed and JEDCO managed, to acquire an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system to increase it's competitiveness and financial capabilities. Furthermore, the successful implementation of the ERP system will increase ASTRACO’s presence on the international level, particularly in the MENA region. Also, the proposed system will allow ASTRACO to bid for large scale projects as an EPC contractor. The grant will cover 80% of the cost of implantation.

General Manager, Mr Samir Kattan, tells Marius Goubert how advanced technical knowhow has built a reputation for quality and is enabling the company to spearhead Jordan’s drive into the renewable energy sector.
In its 24-year history, ASTRACO has established itself as a central player in Jordan’s infrastructure development with a focus on continually adopting global best practices and maintaining a highly professional and motivated workforce. ASTRACO has strived to position itself as an engineering construction centre of excellence for Jordanand beyond.
Initially the company focused its services in the health and hospitality sectors, with electromechanical works completed for a number of multimillion dollar projects including Intercontinental, Le Royal, Le Meridian and Movenpick hotels. The company later expanded to serve the infrastructure, industrial and energy sectors including a pioneering role in renewable energy. ASTRACO completed all electromechanical and instrumentation works for Jordan’s first Independent Power Provider and conducted a number of large scale projects for industrial and chemical plants.Backed by a high level of technical expertise that has been steadily honed with the company’s involvement in a broad spectrum of activities, Astraco is now taking a leading role in some of Jordan’s most significant infrastructure developments. These include the extension of Queen Alia International Airport, the Samra Power Plant expansion project and a 10 megawatt photovoltaic solar power plant (which is being proposed via its associate Clean Energy Concepts to shore up the region’s renewable energy sector).
